This site was created to provide family members and scholars with an interest in family correspondence and history with access to primary sources and documents preserved and housed in the private collection of various members of the Mott family over four centuries. By using this site, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth below.
  
The creator of this site, Amanda Mott, is the current archivist charged with the safekeeping of these documents. Generations have played a role in preserving these records including: Charles Grey Mott, Charles Egerton Mott, Eric Alston Mott, Kate Mott, Michael C. A. Mott, Barbara McPherson, Margaret McPherson—and more. 

These are organized into two sets:
The Wearne Letters (1793~1832)
Julius Caesar Mott Letters (1808~1870)

Please Contribute: The intention in digitizing this material is to provide a platform for others to share references, information, and digitized material as an open source for continued scholarship. If you have material you wish to become part of the “Mott archive” or wish to propose a correction to the material presented please email me and I will work with you to upload and credit the material.
